R&B music has seen its fair share of family groups over the
years with varying degrees of success. For every Jackson 5 there is a
far less successful counterpart that we can point too. In the mid 90's
Uptown Records was in the midst of a hot streak of chart topping hits
spearheaded by the late great Heavy D, Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, and Guy.
In to this hit making environment came four young men from Wheatley
Heights, NY, Andre, Brian, Christopher, and Jason Dalyrimple. Better
known as Soul For Real, the quartet was introduced to the world with
their first single "Candy Rain." An instant hit the song shot to the
top of Billboard Hip Hop Chart and number 2 on the Hot 100. The group followed the success of their debut with yet another classic track "Every
Little Thing You Do" which also saw great success on both Billboard
charts.
